Hi, I,m a teacher from UK too - Suffolk, and we have a girl with learning difficulties at our troupe. You just need a lot of patience, and perseverance might get you somewhere in the end. As long as she enjoys what she is doing when she comes is probably enough for her. Our girl (who is 11) has been with us for 2 & a half years and within the last six months she has only really just got onto learning one spins, I very much doubt she will manage to learn anything much harder that that but who knows - maybe one day.
