1. Start working on good posture. Posture can make or break a performance.
2. Strengthen your wrists with time tosses.
3. Strengthen your center of gravity with sit-ups.
4. Work from the center of baton.
5. Spin on one foot with knees locked on multiple spins.
6. Don't handle your rolls.
7. Make sure repairs are done to your costumes before an event.
8. Check neatness of make-up and hair before performance.
9. Tights give a professional appearace...no bare legs.
10. Clean batons and shoes please.

I always tell my twirlers to practice like they are performing. If you parctice smiling and presenting yourself during your practice time then you won't have any problems when it comes time to perform or compete.

I always teach my girls to express themselves thru their twirling. Showmanship cannot be underestimated and the power to draw interest to your routine. I tell them to just turn up the volume on their natural personalities and it works!
I also stress practice. repitition is key for a good performance.
